Costa Rica displays at least 12 different life zones throughout its territory.
The Atlantic y South Pacific areas are known for their tropical climate with no defined season changes. The rest of the territory presents a rainy season from May to November and a dry one from Dicember to April.
The average temperature in the Central Valley is of 72 F (22 C) whilst in the Coastal Regions temperatures are between the 70 F and 90 F mark. (21 C -32 C)
Costa Rica's climate is amongst the best in the world and many scientific studies show that Central America will be the least affected place in the world by global warming.
An important geographical fact is that the Country is not in the path of hurricanes since the northern part of South America is quite far north of Costa Rica.
Costa Rica does have earthquakes but they are of minor force being the type of ground mostly granite The building codes are very strict and the country is considered more advanced in sismic expertise than almost anywhere.
According to National Geographic, La Garita de Alajuela, located in the central valley, has one of the three best climates in the world (dry, with a light breeze, with a temperature varying from 65º - 80º Fahrenheit).
